FIXED TERM PRODUCTION OPERATOR - IBC VEHICLES    

To support the requirement for the increased build, Vauxhall Motors – IBC plant are now recruiting 23-month fixed term production positions across all main manufacturing units. The job role is within the Luton Plant Manufacturing facility, therefore you will be within a factory environment.

 

The role will require you to perform repetitive tasks on the production line to a high-quality standard by following verbal and written instruction. You will be expected to follow standardised work to a high level with minimal mistakes, ensuring you follow all safety procedures.

MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - LUTON PLANT

Vacancies have arisen within the maintenance department at Vauxhall Motors Luton for mechanical/electrical personnel.  The maintenance department is a diverse group supporting a wide range of machinery, robotics and control systems.  The successful candidates will be expected to slot into this team and be prepared to work on a rotating shift system that could include nightshift.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Maintaining, repairing and improvements for all equipment as required to safely deliver the product to the customer on time, at the required quality and cost.
  • Attending equipment breakdowns and working with the team to get production operational in the shortest possible timescale, using your excellent general mechanical/electrical skills
  •  Carry out various predictive, preventative and reactive maintenance processes, with appropriate feedback to your supervision and corrective actions to continually improve machine availability to production
  • Completing various reports and developing/updating working procedures and safe practices, including risk assessments, job instructions and planned/preventative maintenance

 

What we expect

  • This role requires flexibility with regards to mechanical/electrical versatility and willingness to work extended hours when necessary
  • Good working knowledge of various automated manufacturing systems, including robotic applications (welding, handling, sealing, hemming) PLC’s, resistance welding, conveyor systems, jigs and fixtures
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • A good understanding of relevant Health and Safety processes and procedures
  • Ability to analyse throughput and quality data in relation to equipment performance and act upon it accordingly 
  • Ability to demonstrate a good practical knowledge of continuous improvement processes
  • Good working knowledge of predictive, preventative and reactive maintenance processes
  • Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work with minimum supervision

What are we looking for?

A successful candidate for this role should have the following:

 

-         On track to achieve a 2.1 degree or above in a relevant Business or Management studies

-         Computer literate – knowledge of Microsoft Excel to a high level, specifically spreadsheets

-         Willingness to travel, both in the UK and abroad

AFTERSALES ROLES - COVENTRY

The Aftersales department is responsible for over half of Vauxhall's operating profit. This is achieved by selling Vauxhall genuine parts and accessories through various channels within the Vauxhall network. These channels include: Trade sales, parts sales through the service departments, and accident repairs through our network of approved body shops. To support these channels, we promote several marketing campaigns and programmes which are designed to create and maintain customer retention and customer satisfaction.

 

Under the Aftersales Undergraduate scheme, you will be deployed to a specific role within the Aftersales team where your focus can vary from fulfilling retailer orders, answering retailer and supplier queries, maintaining close relationships with the field team, order tracking, maintaining of the CRM system for dealer success, populating different reports to give to the Aftersales Exec team budget tracking, literature stock control to Supplier Quarterly Review arrangement.
